物理性能：聚四氟乙烯塑料表面光滑，蜡状，极梳水。一般为乳白色不透明。但淬火制品具有一定的透明性。平均密度为2.2。
力学性能：抗拉强度20.0~30.0MPa，断裂伸长率300%~400%。弹性模量400 Mpa。表面硬度大约为55-70HS。PTFE之间的摩擦系数大约为0.1-0.2。
化学性能：能耐绝大部分强腐蚀性物质，至今尚无一种能在300℃以下溶解它的溶剂。耐候性强。可存放10年以上。
